Fixer - A Novel by Ed BrodowAn Entertaining Story

Review of Fixer by S. Peek, Amazon Top 1000 Reviewer

Harry Leonnoff was a Jewish boy with polio who grew up in New York City in the late 1800s. He grew into City Marshal Harry Leonnoff, 'The Fixer' who is a crusader for the underdogs.

This is a well written, interesting story that takes place from Harry's birth in 1883 to his death in 1961. Most of the story takes place between World War I and WWII.

Leonnoff is a compelling character as are several others in this book. He is the nemesis of famed NYC Mayor Fiorello LaGuardia, who is portrayed as being very corrupt. Leonnoff is not only a champion for the downtrodden as a fearless hero, he is also a major philanthropist.

This first novel by Ed Brodow is really a fascinating read, both in terms of action and NYC political history. I recommend it.
